Hi can anyone help, i've got my desktop connected to the
internet via a router, and i want to connect my laptop to
it when i'm away, i can get my laptop to connect when
it's connected to the router but not when i'm away. I'm
presuming it's something to do with the routers I.P
address and the desktop's I.P addrss. Any ideas???

You need to forward port 3389 on the router to the desktop's ip address.

I hope that helps.

when you are at home you use your computer's serial
number - when you are away you use the IP address. This
should work.

you need to open the port in your router..
go into it. and route port 3389 and port 80 to your
computer..if that does not work..e-mail
(e-mail address removed)....dont worry..i dont charge..lol
