I have been successfully using Remote Desktop for months now, but tonight
when I started it, The update was very unresponsive.

When I do anything with the keyboard or mouse nothing appears to happen as
if the connection has dropped, and when I wiggle the mouse the remote
catches up with me.

I have connected to other PC's on my network and they are fine. The PC i'm
connecting to is a Windows XP Professional system with SP1a. I have
restarted this system, but it is still laggin.

Has anyone encounted anything like this before?

Thanks

Paul.

Yes - when the connection is slowed for whatever reason.

Also for the remote desktop client make sure the experience is not set too
high. Modem (56k) is usually sufficient.

Thanks,

However all remotes are on the same 10/100 network. I have never had any
issues with speed as they are all on the LAN.

It has only just started doing it.

I have tested this also from external and it also is slow at responding.
It also takes longer to actually make the connection to the remote
desktop too, both from the LAN and the Internet.

Please forgive me if I have wasted your time.

The culprit was infact a application called ProtoWall. I installed it months
ago, and it never gave me any problems, but after removing ProtoWall from my
network settings, the responseiveness is back.

Thanks for your time.

Paul.
