How is your network doing name resolution, and how is it different now? Can
you connect using the IP address alone? If you ping the new server name,
what gets returned? What gets returned when you ping the "old" server name?

Is this remote access to TS you're having problems with? Were you using a
hosts/lmhosts file on your local computer to do name resolution before?
Check - they're in %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc.

I came to work today and the name confusion simply has vanished. I don't
know what has happened, but I will worry if the problem returns. Until then,
perhaps I have learned a bit more about name resolution in an MS network on
TCP/IP. Thank you very much anyway, and forgive my inexperience.

Rosivaldo.

No problem - do post back with updates/more questions.
