I have RDP client on XP-home and RDP configured and setup on XP-Professional
I tried accessing XP-Pro via RDP and I get a message

"The MSHOME domain/workgroup does not contain any Terminal Servers.

Any clue why this is happening and what should I do ?

Open the Remote Desktop Client on the XP Home Machine (Start -> RUN -> mstsc.exe). Enter the IP address, FQDN or NetBIOS name of the XP Pro machine, click connect. If you're name resolution is suspect you'll need to use the IP Address

You normally can not use the browse feature in a work group environment. If you really want to do
that look at this KB article for help. Reboot each PC once the change to the registry has been made.

Otherwise use the IP or NetBIOS name as suggested by Patrick.

Are you trying to browse, or have you tried typing in the name of the XP Pro
computer in the box?

I have this same problem. I am using a linksys router and am I trying to use browse but I have tried typing in remote pc's name also and I always get the same error. Any help on this?

So your trying to access a XP Pro box using Remote Desktop on the local LAN using the Remote Desktop
connectoid browser? If so, you normally can not use the browse feature in a work group environment.
If you really want to do that look at this KB article for help. Reboot each PC once the change to
the registry has been made.

The registry hack...

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281307

If this is over the public internet from a remote site then you need to forward TCP Port 3389
through the router to the private LAN IP of the XP Pro box you want to access/control. Call using
the public IP of the router, ie. the IP assigned by your ISP. You will *NOT* be able to use the
browse feature in this case, even if you perform the registry hack.
