Hi all,
I've got WinXP Pro (SP1) installed on two computers, and have Remote Desktop
set up between them and it uses some sort of tunnel for its connection (I'm
not really up on all this terminology or how it works). I have a Linksys
WRT54G router on my PC, and can connect to the other PC. Now, Remote Desktop
keeps freezing, often letting me work for only a few seconds, maybe a minute
or two, then it freezes again. Of course, it can take 30 seconds or more to
re-establish the connection, sometimes it even breaks and I have to log on
to Remote Desktop again.
Obviously, this is a real pain...
Now, a friend of mine who has WinXP and uses the same ISP as me, can connect
and her connection does not keep freezing like mine.
Does anyone have any insight or ideas what I can look for, perhaps try a few
settings in the Linksys router setup screen? The Linksys firewall is
activated, but the Windows network firewall is not, and I'm *not* using any
additional firewall software.
If you could e-mail me any responses (besides posting here for others'
benefit), it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
