Remote Desktop is killing my profile

This has happened to me about 3 times. I connect to my machine at home
and it says it can't load my profile. So I get a new blank desktop and
under docmunets and settings a temp profile is created. I see my old
user folder there and if I press the windows key it show my username on
the side bar. How do I get this back to normal.

When I say three times I mean I have reinstalled 3 times and after
about a month of connecting remotely I get this error and have to
reinstall.

I run McAfee AV and nothing is found and also Microsoft beta spyware
and find nothing.

Can I just backup my folder in documents and settings, delete the user,
recreate it and then copy the files back?

You "reinstalled" because of a corrupt profile?
