Remote Desktop: how do I control remote computer's sound card?

I have no trouble getting the Remote Desktop and Network Connections to work
from my laptop to my desktop, which has no monitor. But when I use Remote
Desktop to play music, the music comes through my laptop instead of the
remote computer's sound card.

Is there a way to fix it so that I can play music through my desktop that
has no monitor? What about getting a TV tuner card. Could that be hooked up
to my tv so I could use tv as a monitor even though it is not an lcd tv
monitor? I have a wireless keyboard and mouse, so I was thinking if I could
just get that desktop to work with my TV somehow I could just use it as a
regular desktop instead of connecting through Remote Desktop.

I'm guessing that you have speakers hooked up to the desktop,
correct? If that's the case and all you want to do is connect
to your desktop, start your music and have the sound come out
of the desktops speakers, try the following:

On your laptop, launch Remote Desktop Connection and click on
the Options button. Click on the Local Resources tab. In the
"Remote computer sound" section, click on the down arrow and
select "Leave at remote computer". Click on the other tabs and
configure as you see fit. On the General tab, hit the "Save as"
button. Save this configuration in a handy location and call it
something like "Remote Music".

Good luck

Oh no, I have the pc sound connected to the aux in on my stereo, which is
also right next to the tv. I like listening to the music through the stereo.
I will try what you suggested and see if that works. Thanks.

Why not buy a cheap monitor from a computer fair. I have an old monitor from
a 486 which I use with a 733mhz pentium. Its fine for the tasks I use the
computer for. You could pick up something similar for around £5 or £10.
