Is there a way that I can remote in with a windows 2000
client to an XP client in different domains, different
networks, and different user names. If I enable remote
desktop on the XP client. How do I set up the W2K client
to remote in successfully.

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Download & Install the Remote Desktop Client (5.2.3790) on the 2000 machine

then

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Communications -> Remote Desktop Client -> Enter IP Address of Remote Computer (Windows XP Pro machine you want to logon to) -> Click "Connect" -> Logon with valid username & password for the remote Windows XP Pro computer

If there are firewalls between the two computers you'll need to ask the security adinistrator if he/she can open port 3389 to the Windows XP Computer so you can connect

Sure.

As long as that Windows XP box is accessable from your location and
tcp port 3389 is open (properly configured firewall or no firewall),,
it will be just like connecting to any other terminal server.

As far as logging into the XP box, make sure the user is in the
"Remote Desktop Users" group.

No additional setup of the RDP client is nessesary.
