Remote Desktop Freeze Fix

One of my machines that I use often at work was freezing up about 95%
of the time when I used RDP. Searched high and wide for a
resolution. Tried re-installing Windows (XP Pro), RDP, and other
programs to no avail. Unrelated, I upgraded my monitor one day, and
just decided to see if there were updates to my display driver. There
were and I installed them. RDP magically worked again...for a few
days.

Then I found a thread on here that mentioned the graphics hardware
acceleration. By reducing it one click, RDP returned again...for a
few days.

Today, I found a web site that references all the Terminal Services
registry settings:

http://www.wtstek.com/item2/Article20031210.htm

I compared settings on my bad machine to a machine I could always get
into. One setting was different:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-
Tcp
fInheritColorDepth

I set it to 0, and RDP is working like a champ again. We'll see for
how long. At least I've narrowed down that the graphics display is
the culprit for my RDP problems.

Hope this helps others.
