In our office we have 3 x laptops connected by wireless networking and two
desktops connected by wired network. Only one of the desktop computers is
able to bring the printer through into the remote desktop session. The other
4 do not. Why is this and how do we fix?

All machines run XP Pro, server has Windows Server 2003.

Have you set up printer and file sharing on all of the other PC/Laptops and
created a workgroup?

With not relevant information there's no possibility or getting meaningful
advice.

Printer & file sharing is enabled on all our local computers. All the local
computers can share files and printers and print to the network printer.

The problem is only one computer can print to the network printer whilst
using Remote Desktop. The other 4 cannot import the printer into the remote
desktop session.

Sorry your document makes no sense at all. I have described my setup and if
you do not want to help then don't. If you need some extra information why
don't you just ask?

In order to use a locally printer through a RDC session, you must have the
local printer driver (not software) installed on each of the remote
computers. However, just to be clear, you are trying to print from the local
printer within the office correct?

The printer driver is installed on each of our local computers and also on
the remote desktop server. All the local computers in our office have a
direct connection to the printer via IP. Only one local computer imports the
printer in to the remote desktop session. The rest will only import our
secondary printer in the office even though the primary printer is set as
default.
