Remote Desktop Disconnected

I am rebulding my windows xp pro desktop. I built the
box, applied sp1 and all the patches through windows
update. The remote access was working great. than I
applied office 2003 beta and rebooted. Now when I try to
get a remote session to my desktop I get

Remote Desktop Disconnected
The client could not establish a connectio to the remote
computer.
The most likely causes for this error are:
1)Remote connections might not be enabled at the remote
computer
2)the max number of connections was exceeded at the
remote computer
3) a network error occured while establishing the
connection

I can ping the box and connect to the share on it
I tried doing this right after rebooting

can anyone tell me how I can get my connection working
again.

Can you please check if Remote Connections are enabled in
My Computer > Properties > Remote Tab > Allow users to remotely connect to
this computer
 
I checked and it is enabled. I am a domain admin so I
should have access. I also added myself as having rights
by clicking the add and typing in domainname/userid.

What other things can I check.

I used the system restore to get back to a point where I
could remotely login. I started reinstall all the apps
that I had installed up to the lockout. Right now there
is only one thing left to install. At this point remote
desktop is working. The item left to install is office
2003 beta tech refresh 2. I'm not going to do it cause
I've got lots to do now that my system is back up but I
thought I would pass it along.
