I connect with a Dell Latitude X200 to multiple Win XP
machines. Most of the time it works fine but on occation
(about once per two hours) the screen will stop updateing
and 2 or 3 minutes later the screen size on the laptop
will shrink to 640x480 from the 1024x768 and after that a
blue screen will tell me there has been an error with the
display driver and the computer needs to shut down. I
have to hard boot the laptop and when it starts again it
the screen size is small and windows asks me to submit an
error to Microsoft etc.
--It only happen when the Dell laptop is the client not
on other computers I use. (My Dell desktops work fine as
does my Toshiba laptop). I does happen both when
connecting to a Compaq desktop and a Toshiba laptop.
--The error occurs over wi-fi, dsl, dialup, and even
direct 10/100 connections.
--The error happens most often when using just windows
explorer on the remote unit. (Usually when opening or
closing a window)
--The error still happens when all shares (disks, ports,
printers) are off or on.
--I do have the latest video driver on the laptop which
is the microsoft driver.
Any ideas?
