Hi,

I can connect to my office computer from inside the LAN,
but when I lock it and go home. I VPN in to work and then
try to connect to my office computer with Remote Desktop.
It initially connects, but never shows me the log on
screen, then it gives me the error saying the connection
has been broken.

I have a firewall, but I was able to connect before I
reinstalled Win XP.

The only thing I can think of that changed is I am no
longer able to join the domain at work from home, so the
WORKDOMAIN\myusername account doesn't exist anymore.
Should that matter?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I Am having a similar problem,
I have installed Windows 2003 Small business server with 2 NICs, one for Lan and one for the internet. The internet interface runs though a sonicwall firewall.

ports 47 & 1723 have been opened on the firewall for the VPN. The VPN connects and works fine, and I can ping the server.
I get an IP address and DNS is working correctly

However if I try and Remote Desktop to the server it connects initially but the logon screen doesn't come up and I am disconnected after a time out period.

Just for the record, I have also opened port 3389 on the firewall for Remote Desktop and it works fine.

Any Ideas

Leigh
