HI,

I don't know if I'm in the right newsgroup and if I'm not, please let me
know. I have several Windows 2000 Professional workstations and a few 2000
Servers that I would like to use with Remote Desktop sharing. I went to
Microsoft's site to download it and to look at some documentation on it. I
have 2 unanswered questions,

1. I understand that Remote Desktop will work with 2000 but I can't get it
to work. I can't seem to find any documentation for non-XP clients. Can
anyone help me get Remote Desktop to work on a Windows 2000 platform?

2. What's the benefit of using Remote Desktop over using Netmeeting? I
understand that Netmeeting is going away, is there a reason for this?

Thanks in advance,
JeffH

Install Terminal Server on your server(s).
Maybe there is a firewall problem (is their a isa server in the network who
blocks rdp traffic?

Win2000 machines (and Win9x machines!) can be RDP
clients but not RDP hosts.

Win2000/Win20003 servers and WinXP Professional
machines can act as RDP hosts.

Hi Pegasus,

Thanks for the information. I guess since Win2K Pro workstations can't be
hosts, then I'll need to get Netmeeting.

Thanks again,
JeffH
