Hi all,
My Remote Desktop Connection was not working properly. I could log in but
after the login, it only showed a black screen. I could close the window
and the message box "This will disconnect your WIndows session. Your
programs will continue...." still showed up and I could clicked OK to close
the window. Everything looked working fine except it only gave me a black
screen. How can I terminate this connection and restart a new one? Can I
do it from the local workstation?

What kind of network is this being run over? Over a dialup link it can take a bit for the desktop to
be displayed particularly if your sending a complex wallpaper. You might try disabling the sending
of desktop wallpaper to speed this up...

On the Remote Desktop host, run 'gpedit.msc' from the command line and look at "Local Computer
Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Terminal Services" for the policy to
"Enforce Removal of Remote Desktop Wallpaper"....

Personally I configure all of my XP Pro boxes to not display the wallpaper while in an RD session...
