.If you set up your computer to connect remotely what
makes you think that someone else can't connect to it
also?

Hi,

As long as the computer you're trying to connect to has Windows XP Pro then
you'll be able to connect to it using the Remote Desktop Connection
application in your Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Communications

This is granted that the WinXP Pro machine has the Remote Desktop Connection
enabled through the Properties of My Computer and then in the Remote tab,
where it says "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer".

No I have WinXP Home. Is there a download to enable this feature?

Hi,

Unfortunately you won't be able to use Windows XP's Remote Desktop
Connection on your WinXP Home machine as the server.

You can however use other remote control software such as Symantec's
pcAnywhere, or RealVNC (Virtual Network Computing) at
http://www.realvnc.com/ which is free.
