- Use the Help facility on your WinXP PC to see how
to turn on "Remote Desktop".
- Download and install the client for the Win2000 PC from
here: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=306626.

You should enable the remote desktop assistant in your win xp pro

right click my computer, properties, remote.

To connect from Windows 2000 Pro to WinXP Pro,
You must download from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/rdclientdl.asp the file
msrdpcli.exe , then install it on Win2000Pro machine.
Enable Remote Desktop on WinXP Pro trough MyComputer>Properties>Remote tab.
And then, from Win2000Pro computer press Start>Run>mstsc and the
Remote Desktop Connection window will appear.
Type the IP Address or the name of WinXP Pro computer and then press Enter;
You must have Administrator privileges or your user must be a member of
Remote Users Group.
Blank passwords ( might ) not work.
