I am trying to run the Remote Desktop Connection, under my Windows 2000
Workstation, trying to connect to another PC, which has a static IP address,
from my office. At the office, we have Watchguard Firewall.
Does anyone have experience with such a setup? I need some help!!
I have configured it, but a timeout error, and now I am not what else to try.
Please reply to (e-mail address removed)
Many Thanks ... Naren

Here are a few points to note:
- What operating system does your host (i.e. the "other PC") run?
It must be Windows XP Professional or Windows Server.
- You must enable Remote Desktop on it.
- You must create a tunnel on your firewall that directs port 3389
packets to the host PC's internal IP address.
- You must ensure that the host PC's own firewall does not block
port 3389.
- You can test connectivity with this command, to be executed
from a Command Prompt on the remote PC:
telnet aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd 3389. Substitute the hosts external
IP address for aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd.
