Hello,

I am trying to set up a remote desktop session to my home
compter and have a question. If my computer is connected
to the internet, will I need to connect to a VPN server
first, before I am able to get connected to my home
computer? Or will I be able to use the Remote Desktop
client and connect directly to my computer's IP address?

Thanks!!!

Andy,

In addition to what Sean says, if you're behind a router, you will also need
a port forwarding fule (tcp port 3389) to the internal ip address of the
physical box. If you're not behind a router, then no other options are
necessary. Just make sure that the 'terminal services' service are in fact
running. Also, it's assumed that you're running XP Pro- because RDP isn't
available on XP home.
