I have a 2 computer network with both computers running Win XP Home Edition.

I spotted the Remote Desktop Connection program in the communications
program group and attempted to use it, when I ask to find computers on the
MSHOME workgroup I given an error message stating:

'The MSHOME domain/workgroup does not contain any Terminal servers'

Can I therefore not use this facility to remotely access the other PC
because I have Home Edition. If I can use it can someone give me a clue as
to how I get it up and running.

Cheers

XP Home does *NOT* run Remote Desktop in a "host" mode, only as a client to a XP Pro desktop or
W2000/W2003 server running Terminal Services.

Look at NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing (RDS) or VNC...

You can get the VNC software from http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/ , http://www.realvnc.com or
http://www.tightvnc.com

Note that the VNC data stream is *NOT* encrypted like the RDS data stream is. Over the public
internet that is a potential security risk. Some folks run VNC through VPN or SSH tunnels.

NetMeeting is built-in to XP and 2000 and can *NOT* be upgraded. Look at this KB article for help
with RDS...
