remote desktop connection problem

HI,
Kindly tell me how to connect to my office computer
which is on a network from my home computer. I would like
to know the exact steps to do it.Moreover is there any
prior authorization that i need to get from the networking
authorities in the college.Plz elaborate on this..

The "networking authorities" are the first ones you should talk to. If they
won't let you through whatever firewalls are in place, there's nothing you
can do about it. And they're the only ones who can set up to redirect your
network request from outside to your computer. Then they're the ones who are
going to have to tell you how to connect to the office network from the
outside.

Once they tell you all that, there's not much more for you to know.
