HELP!

Typing http://SERVER_NAME/tsweb into an IE6 browser
address works fine when the laptop is in the office
(WAN)...

It does NOT work when I take the laptop home and type the
same thing. I get: 'Page cannot be displayed.'

What am I doing wrong?

If the office PC is behind a firewall/NAT/router then both TCP Port 80 (IIS) and TCP Port 3389
(Remote Desktop) need to be forwarded to the LAN IP of the desktop. Call using the public IP of the
firewall/NAT/router, ie. the IP assigned by the ISP. I would contact your office network
administrators to see if they block access to those two ports...

Thank you for the prompt reply. Please point me in the
right direction to "forward" ports.

(We have no system administrator available this week.)

This will depend on your firewall/router. If you don't normally work with
this device, or such products in general, I'd suggest you wait til your
admin gets back, in case you accidentally change something that will affect
your network badly....

Please give me a tip on forwarding the ports... I really
have to do this today/myself. I'm pretty adept at this
stuff and my system administrator has not been able to
get this far in the last 30-days!

I do not have the MS firewall checked in the TCP/IP. The
router is a Dl614+. I have obtained my IP address and
understand the dynamics. I will use another set of
hardware to test this out and protect the office server
from any errors.

What is the first step and are there docs or FAQs for me
to follow?
