Hi
I know how to setup normal remote desktop connectinons
enable it on the machine and enter the ip address in the
dialog box, however 2 Q's

1) I want to remote desktop from my work machine to my home
machine, but not the machine thats connected to the internet,
just to one that is sharing the internet. Its local
ip address is 192.168.0.4. Is this possible?

2) What are the security risks of remote desktop connections?
Assuming I do use a sensible login name and password

To access multiple Remote Desktop sessions look at this small page for help. This presumes you have
some sort of internet connection sharing software or a router setup so the other PCs can access the
public internet. Modify as needed for your use...

As long as you use a strong password there should be no great security risk using Remote Desktop.
The data stream is encrypted natively...

You mentioned a sensible username and password.

Bear in mind that any administrator-level user with a password can use RD.
You can rename "administrator."

It's a good idea to log both successful and unsuccessful logins, so that you
can check the logs.
