Remote Desktop Connection, not working now...

RDC stopped working after months of successful connections. XP Pro, IIS
installed, RDC enabled, router with static IP's assigned, and specific port
enabled. WhatISMyIP.com states same IP, ISP states nothing new or different,
no ports are blocked. CanYouSeeMe.org says port is not blocked. Turning off
Firewall no change. http://x.x.x.x:port/tsweb produces error: Remote
Desktop Disconnected. The client could not connect to the Remote Computer.
This does not even work within the local network. Net View indicates
computer available. ping works.

Any suggestions on how to fix what was working, or to even get local
connection working again.
