Remote Desktop Client no longer works over Internet

I have one workstation that recently stopped allowing
Remote Desktop Client connections coming in from the
Internet (through a VPN). If I'm on the LAN, it works
fine. Other workstations in the organization still work
both internally and externally.

I get the workstation login prompt and am able to enter a
password, but after waiting about thirty seconds, the
session closes. I've rebooted the workstation, and have
done all of the updates.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Scott

I have exactly the same problem in my Toshiba laptop (Win XP home), using VPN (cisco 5000 client) trough the SBC DSL connection. I just got the host log on window and then it doesn't work. It works fine when I try in my office's network. I also have all the updates. Sometimes I didn't got the host log on windows, it just hangs up trying to connect. I had make it work just two times

I need help as soon as possible, since I need to connect from home urgently. Thank

Try to use alternative remote control program. For example:
http://www.anyplace-control.com
.

I am sitting here with the exact same problem with a
Toshiba Satellite laptop. I cannot remote into the
customer's office with it. I can remote in from my
desktop system, and my customer can remote from a home
desktop system as well. But the laptop won't connect.
The customer got the laptop in August and initially could
connect, but trashed his system and had to use the
Toshiba recovery cd. Could never rdp into work from that
point on. Have called Toshiba, but they seem clueless.
Have reinstalled SP1, reinstall RDP Client, all critical
updates installed. The customer uses a cable modem, I
have a DSL connection through SBS 2000. No VPN
involved. Any other Toshiba laptop users with the same
probolem?

Have you tried to see if they have a new network card driver?

This may help the issue...

Does the Toshiba laptop have integrated Wi-Fi? What
model is it?

If it has integrated wireless, try disabling the wireless
port, then disable and re-enable the LAN port, assuming
your Internet connection can come in through the LAN
port. I have a Satellite A25 laptop that I have had
MAJOR problems connecting to a remote office desktop.
After disabling the wireless port, the remote connection
worked perfectly via the LAN port.

Yes, I already installed the latest driver for my network card, and even after that is still not working.

Thanks.

This is A15-S127, and even when it doesn't have the Wireless card integrated, it has the option to connect the card but I don't have it. How do I know if the Wi-Fi is active?

Thanks
