This is probably simple, but for the life of me I haven't come up with
a solution.

I have just begun supporting several WinXP Pro computers over a 100
mile radius and would find it very helpful to do things like install
printers remotely. However, unless the user logs in as an
Administrator, I can't do this. The users log into a domain, so I've
been adding them temporarily to our Domain Administrator list, but
that's not really the route I'd like to go.

Is there a way that I can connect as an administrator while they're
logged in?

How do other people handle this?

Thanks

Set them up as power users.

I've then been able to do most things using RunAs functionality--there are
some good KB articles about this, I believe.

The exception I've found is stuff involving the network icon in control
panel--for that, I've needed to log into the workstation as an
administrator--haven't found a workaround that works.

Thanks Bill. That article will be helpful.
