Hello.

I have been working with Remote Desktop for a while now.
Now I have a new Internet Connection in my new Appartment
(while still having the old one for a while) and I already have
a pc running there. I installed XP and activated RD, it worked
on the local network.

However, when I log in over the Internet the screen stays black.
Mostly, that is. I got it to work once already, but on the next retry
it did not work again. It then displays a black screen with no logon
window and it closes again with no error after half a minute or so.

I wonder if this can be a black hole issue if it at least worked once?

I actiavated black hole detection on the client pc already, no
difference. Does it have to be activated on the server also to fix
a black hole issue (if it is one)?

Hope you can help,
Lukas

It would hurt trying this... That FAQ is one from the Terminal Server
group and they have more experience in this problem...

Just curious do you have VNC installed as well? I have seen issues w/ VNC
and remote desktop if you connect to it using remote desktop it works then
if you try VNC and try remote desktop again the screen is black.

That is related to how Windows stops using its virtual display adapter
and VNC... The two shouldn't be mixed or used at the same time if at
all possible.
