Am I a complete idiot in that I can't find anything anywhere in XP Home's UI
or help stating clearly that XP Home supports being an Remote CLIENT but not
a HOST? I just wasted a day trying to get this to work, until I finally found
the KB content that SUGGESTS the sorry truth (but doesn't state it clearly
either) by only and specifically referring to XP Pro.

A quick google search for...
"Remote Desktop" and "Windows XP Home" brought up this Microsoft link:

Frequently Asked Questions About Remote Desktop
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/rdfaq.mspx

Where the third FAQ is...

'Q. Is Remote Desktop available on Windows XP Home Edition?

A. No, however you can upgrade from Windows XP Home Edition to Windows XP
Professional to get Remote Desktop. You can use Windows XP Home Edition as
the client for accessing your Windows XP Professional computer running
