I know that I am missing something stupid therefore Im begging for your help.
I am on a LAN and I can connect to someone's pc but it always locks them
out. I want them to be able to see what I am doing so they may actually
learn by watching. I aslo dont want to ask for their permission for cases
where they may be away from the computer. This will save me time for not
having to drive to another building for 30 seconds of work. I went to a
client's computer and edited group policy for offer remote assistance and
added users using the domainname\user, but it still wants to log off the
user. What am i doing wrong?

Remote Desktop by design locks out the remote PCs desktop...

If your in a domain environment you can use the "Offer" functionality of
Remote Assistance but the Novice user must still give the Expert permission
to both view and take control of the Novice desktop. That is also by design.
