Is there any way to hook up the remote desktop and print
on the remote printer from a local program?
IE. I am in NY and want to connect to a PC in CA. There
is a printer in CA that I want to use. I have XP PRO in
CA. In NY I have Win 98 and MS Word. Can I type a
documet in NY and print it on the printer in CA?
I already have the remote desktop running.

Not really, though the converse is true (i.e. local printers are
automatically shared out such that you can access them from the remote
machine).

However, since you can already establish a secure connection to the remote
machine (I assume via VPN), it's probably possible to share out the remote
printer and simply access it from your local machine.

Hi Jason. I read about this in the WinXP Help ans Support
module (Start>Help_and_Support). Search for Remote
Desktop and printing should be among its topics. Good
luck! -Rick
