Hello: I am trying to connect remotely from my home computer (Windows XP Pro)
to my office computer (windows XP Pro on a Windows Server 2003 Network). I am
able to connect to an active VPN. I am able to ping my office router and
receive a response. However I am unable to connect or ping other computers on
the office network. I receive an error that states:
"The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections
might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new
connections. It is also possible that network problems are preventing your
connection. Please try connecting again later. If the problem continues to
occur, contact your administrator."
I have tried to:
Ping the office network server - time out
Ping the office desktop - time out
Ping the office router - receive response
Connect and log into the VPN to the office
Home office runs on a three computer network. All remote access options are
toggled. Home computer is able to remote desktop to other two computers on
network.
Spoke to internal IT, he advised that the office network is set correctly as
he is able to log in remotely from his home computer.
This is a real puzzle. Is there anyone who might help??
Sincerely Ms. Foxette.
