I tried to set up a remote assistance connection, and
when I tried to connect, it said that "the connection
could not be established because the host name could not
be resolved." What does this mean?

You need to edit the invitation file:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=kb;en-us;307711

Edit the
RCTICKET="65538,1,10.10.10.1:3389;user name.domain name.com:3389
entry...

Change the 10.10.10.1 and the user name.domain name.com to the ISP
provided internet address for the remote computer.

You may also need to open a hole in the firewall or forward TCP Port
3389 (in the router) to the private IP address of the computer which
is in need of assistance.
