In reading some of the posts here, it looks like the Windows XP Home Edition
with service pack 2 only allows remote assistance? Is this correct? How can
I do remote access? I would like to be able to access my brother's computer
and help him figure things out that he doesn't know how to do? I was looking
at some of the offers for like PCNow.com, but if I can set this up with my
Windows software and not have to pay that would be great. Thanks in advance
for any help you may have. Jenny

Hi;

I was attempting to do the same thing with my best friend this past weekend,
but wasn't successful either (both of us are on XP Pro SP2). I checked with
my coworker and it seems that your brother will have to go into the "Help &
Support" center and issue an invitation to you to connect to his computer
(this is probabbly due to the windows firewall since this connection is being
made over the internet as opposed to just a cross a LAN in an enterprise
environment). We will try again this weekend; I'll let you know if I'm
successful.

Thanks for the help. My brother is coming back next week, I'll let you know
if I figure it out. I sent him an invitation to access my computer,
hopefully it will work. Jenny

VNCHow can I make the VNC server connect to a client, instead of the other way around ... VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is, in essence, ...
