Remote Assistance to a WEP secure computer

I have good success using RA with a friend in Texas. I take that to mean
my computer which is behind a firewall is configured OK.
A Nashville friend is using a WEP protected computer behind a firewall.
When he issues a RA request I receive the request and accept. Nothing
happens after that, no error message, nothing.
Both friends are using wireless, I am ethernet.
Does the WEP enter into the equation? If so, how do we get around it.

Greetings Ed,

WEP actually has nothing to do with it, but the fact they're on a wireless connection which
is probably handled by a router is probably the problem here. Unless the router supports
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), Remote Assistance will not work. Someone may just need to go
into the router configuration and turn on UPnP, or the router may need an update from the
manufacturer's website. Sadly, some older devices don't support UPnP at all, in which cause
RA will never work.
