Remote Assistance no longer launches

I used to have RA working but now when a remote user requests RA with Windows
Messenger the Remote Assistance Application doesn't even launch!

Any suggestions on how to diagnose this would be appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem. I'm remote (XP Home SP2), the novice is in
the office (Xp Pro SP2), and when she sends me an invite via Windows Live
Messenger 8.1 (same on both machines), I see the invite, click "Accept" and
that's the end of the game - zilch. I have no problem going into her PC
(behind a router) via Remote Desktop. Did I read that whatever flavor modern
Messenger you have, you still need to have that old Windows Messenger service
enabled and running?
