Remote assistance behind router (ADSL)

We tried to make a remote assistance session using the
windows messenger.
we can initiate a chat session but couldn't make a
connection for remote assistance.
we both usinf ADSL connection to get internet access and
both using ALCATEL speedTouch pro which is a router with
DHCP server.
any ideas?

Assuming you are having to use NAT, the ST Pro is too old and does not
support uPnP, which is needed for Remote assistance, voice and video
etc. The later ST510 router works fine.
