remote assist/app sharing not working

On Friday I had my motherboard and network card changed. I have since been unable to connect to anyone remotely using remote assistance or application sharing. I get the message inviting me for a remote session, but as soon as I accept nothing else happens. With the application sharing, the 'session sharing' box comes up but never changes from 'waiting'. I have had this same result on numerous attempts from different people.

What do I need to check in order to be able to use these features as I did last week. Nothing else on the machine appears to have changed

Thanks for suggestions

Hi
I'm having the same problem now, although at one time my friend and I had it working. I made two changes to the environment since then. Install McAfee firewall and reduce the number of programs and services that start up with XP. I read somewhere that the whiteboard and application sharing features in Windows Messenger use port 1503 and that the firewall may be blocking access. If so, I'm not sure how to check this out in McAfee. Also by turning off some startups and services, I not clear on what basic functionality should be running in the background to use the whiteboard, remote assist and app sharing. The video, audio and simple text messages works fine. Thanks for any insight
