Thinking of setting up PC for remote administration,
particularly using remote desktop.
i.e. accessing another PC desktop over a network.

Would this be affected by a firewall?
How do I permit access in Firewall?

Currently using Win XP Firewall
Thinking also about Zone Alarm

Thank you

Well, yeah.

If you turn on a firewall and block the ports that are used by Remote
Desktop, it stops working.

If, however, you configure that firewall to allow traffic on the ports
Remote Desktop uses (3389 I believe) - then you should be fine.

Just search Microsoft/Google for "Remote Desktop and Firewall
Configuration".
