new admin guy
PEACE TO ALL:
I need a way to remotely administer a small site with two
win 2000 servers and 20 2000 pro boxes.
My boss wants me to set it up with Microsoft Terminal
Services. I hope someone who has used MS terminal
services for remote administration purposes can answer
some of these questions:
I mean, would you load TS on the DC? I hear that's a bad
idea. Also, wouldnt you need to dual home the DC to do
this? I heard that's a bad idea too. How about loading it
on another server or pro box with admin tools installed?
Would'nt you need a static or researved public IP on the
box with TS in order to specify what to connect too?
Cann you do this through a hardware router / firewall w/
NAT and SPI? (linksys)
Can anyone give me some idea how to make this work. Is
this product really usable for remote admin or is it
really worthless for remote admin to a remote site?
Thank you very much to anyone who can guide me.
