is there anyway to know by looking at the security logs
if my computer is being remotely accessed? I suspect that
it may be happening but am not sure of what to look for.

To protect you computer, take the following preventive measures:

1) Enable the Internet Connection Firewall or install a third
party firewall like Zone Alarm or Sygate Personal Firewall..
