Remote access to MS Exchange Server

I access my company network remotely through a VPN connection. Although I can
access the mainframe server, and successfully ping the Microsoft Exchange
Server at the DOS prompt, there would appear to be a Windows2000 Pro security
feature that prevents my password from being transmitted to the Exchange
Server, so I can't get into Outlook. This never was a problem when running
under Windows 98 SE. Any thoughts on this?

Can you tell us how you concluded that?

Are you using Outlook to access Exchange? Don't use Password Authentication
as the Logon network security setting, unless your home machine is logged
into the domain. Set it to "None" and enter your credentials when you open
Outlook and are prompted.
