I'm trying to set up an internet connection on a compaq
computer that had windows xp reinstalled. in the
connection wizard the dial "up by modem" is grayed out,
error711 .The remote access connection manager service is
not running and will not start. I did all the things
described in microsoft's directions to correct this problem
for error 711 and error 1068. In services, when trying to
start the remote access connection manager I get error 1068
"The dependency service or group failed to start.

The Remote Access Connection Manager service depends on the Telephony
service, make sure that one is running.
