I can't turn on the Remote Access Communication Manager in
the Windows XP SERVICES window. As a result I think this
has to be turned on to make the modem and the networking
to configure. I reinstalled the OS and couldn't register
it (No Modem). Do I need to get it registered again to
make them work? and if so how? Bill

Hi Bill,
afaik, that service is to allow your pc to connect to another machine
running Remote desktop. I'm not positive but it may become activated when
you've set up the network (it's started on my system and Im not using a
modem).
Windows should give you 30 days to activate while, at the same time,
allowing you normal use.

Can you explain your networking problems please.
After installation of Windows, did you actually install your modem and run
the network wizard?

The Remote Access Connection Manager service has nothing to do with remote
desktop. You may be hitting this problem.
