reminders won't work

I have an event in my calender set to havea reminder and also the reminder
options are set under the tools menu. But the reminder dosen't work when I
have outlook open, it only works when I have my mailbox opne through my
interent browser. I want the reminder to come up if I have outlook opne on
my computer.

What type of account? Since you talk about "internet browser", I'm assuming
Exchange, but I want to make sure. What version of Outlook? If this a home
or work PC? If the former, how are you connecting to the Exchange server?
