This has been an ongoing problem for years now with
various versions of outlook, most recently with XP.
While normal single reminders do work fine, the problem has
always been with repeat reminders, say ones that are supposed
to go off at the same time every day or some pattern like that.
The other characteristic is that they only fail to popup after the
system has been booted for half a day or more and the ones that
have failed to popup will always popup immediately on a reboot.
Up till now I have been running on Win9x, right thru from
95 thru to ME and have seen the problem with all of them.
I do tend to run the system pretty heavily in the sense of lots
of tasks active, multiple instances of Access etc, and have
always observed the system resources gradually dropping
over time since the boot and just assumed that that was the
problem with the reminders failing to popup.
But I have just migrated to XP and the problem with
the reminders persists. And I dont need to reboot at
least twice a day due to lack of resources anymore.
One thing I have just noticed is that if the repeating
reminders have stopped popping up, I can just use
XP's Internet Time synch to get them popping up again.
Just manually resynch the time using the Update button.
Surely I cant be the only one thats ever seen this
problem thats been ongoing for years, literally, now.
