Reminders kills screensaver

I have been using tasks and calendar with reminders. While out of the office,
if a reminder comes up on the screen, it cancels the screensaver, thereby
giving me screen burn as the popup is always in the same location. Is there
any way to prevent the popups from cancelling the screensaver.
 
FWIW, Screensavers were moved to the entertainment category when long
persistance phosphor monitors were phased out about 15 years ago.
