Reminders keep popping up

We are running an Business Contact Database on SQL 2005. It seems all of the
sudden that 300+ reminders are now appearing when all the users sync their
offline and online copies of the database. It takes about 30 minutes to
clear and renders the computer useless. Once they are cleared they reappear
again. Is there anyway to find out what is causing this? All users are
using Outlook 2007 on XP.

This has shown up in this newsgroup before, but I don't recall if
there was a fix or work around.
