Hi All,
This is my first time trying here, bit desperate to find
answer. When I set a new appointment in my Calendar, and
try and set reminder, it now gives me the following error
message:

"The reminder for "whatever appointment" will not appear
because it is not in your Calendar or Tasks folder. Is
this Ok? Yes or No"

If I select No, then it stays there waiting for me to do
something, if I select yes, then it saves it in the
Calender with the little reminder symbol showing, but
does not remind you.

It did not do this until a few weeks ago, when admin put
in new server and we had to create our accounts again and
import our .pst file back into outlook personal folder.

I have scoured the knowledge base, outlook help etc, and
cannot seem to find this problem.

Any ideas out there? Fingers crossed.

cheers
David Thomas

Is this really your default Calendar folder, in the PST or mailbox
where you get your email delivered? If so just start Outlook using the
/resetfolders switch and see if that fixes it. To do so open the
Start, Run dialog and type: outlook.exe /resetfolders, then press
Enter.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the help there, tried that one, but no go
unfortunately. We have our mailbox on the server which
is limited to 50mb and then we have our personal folder
on our c drive on our local machine, which in my case is
my laptop, this has unlimited space as we archive and
keep a lot of emails.

I have the mailbox folder set with a rule to transfer
everything across to my personal folder inbox. I have
always just set my calendar in my personal folder.

If you have any other ideas would love to hear them.

Many thanks.

cheers
David.

In a profile with an Exchange mailbox and a PST file the mailbox is
your default mail store. Reminders will only fire from the default
Inbox, Calendar, Tasks or Contacts folder in the mailbox and not in
any other folder in that mail store or in any folder at all in your
PST file. There is no way around that unless you use a 3rd party addin
that adds to Outlook's reminders abilities.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for your help on that one, appreciate it greatly.
Have a great year!
cheers
