When I startup MS Outlook 2003 I get the following balloon pop-up:

"Cannot start the reminder service. Unable to show reminders."

I have ran every command line switch combination known to Microsoft and it
still has not resolved the issue. I have had this issue now for about a year
and I have given up.

It looks like for everyone else is has been resolved with a combination of
the /cleanreminders / resetfolders / recycle switches but it still has not
worked for me.

Any ideas? It

Run Scanpst.exe (inbox repair tool) to see if there are problems with your
PST file.

Try a brand new profile.

I have done a scanpst and everytime it finds errors but there are no details
of the erros. It says it fixes them and I still have the issue. Like I have
said, I have had this issue for over a year now with multiple re-installs of
MS Office. I have created a new PST file and when I copy my calendar over to
the new file the problem comes back.

Then there's something corrupted in the calendar folder.

One thing that might work is running scanpst 3 times in a row, alternating
with a disk scan/compression utility. Sometimes that helps. If it doesn't
you might have to copy over your calendar items one by one to see which are
corrupted, or just abandon the existing ones and start a new calendar from
scratch.
