No matter what time I select as a reminder default the
system sets the reminder time to 18 hr. How can I fix?

Nikki:

Tried your suggestion (and also found a similar one in
the Office 2003 Online Help) but I now get a message
saying "Unable to start Reminder Service". I then tried
a restore point before I did the cleanreminders but it
made no difference. Any ideas about how to "undo" the
cleanreminders?

Unfortunatly the suggested fix for "Unable to start Reminder
Service" error message is to run the "...\CleanReminders" switch...
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281315

Try running it one more time and let me know if this does
not fix the problem.

Nope, I recleaned and restarted a couple of times with no
change --- the default is still 18 hr and I get the
error "Unable to Start Reminder Service... I should have
added the detail that I am running XP Home Edition and
Office 2003 with Outlook 2003.

Try opening Outlook using the ".../CleanReminders" switch. The
link(s) below will give you the instructions on how to use it.

OL2000: Additional Command-Line Switches

or

OL2002: Additional Command-Line Switches

/CleanReminders Cleans and regenerates reminders.
/CleanFreeBusy Cleans and regenerates free/busy information.

Hi,

I'm new to the group and would like to express my thanks to the owners
of the forum and the participants as well. Thanks to this thread, I was
able to find a solution that has existed for the past 4 days, virtually
killing my online communications. I upgraded my Panda Software to the
Panda Platinum Internet Security 8.0 and found the "out of memory or
system resources" error awaiting me everytime I started Outlook. Unlike
my previous communications with Panda, I was unable to receive any
response to my problem. However, through a Google search, I found this
thread and the answer to my dilema. I first tried /CleanReminders, then
/Cleanviews and finally the one that worked, /ResetOutlookBar.
Apparently, changes to MS Outlook's menus, creates a memory leak or
some other memory problem and locks up the software. I hope this post
helps others who might be experiencing similar difficulties.

Hi
I am having this exact same problem. Did you ever figure out how to fix it? I'm hesitant to try the \CleanReminders "fix" - it sounds like it did not work and caused even more problems. Thanks.
